چکیده:

Technology Foresight (TF) is considered as an important tool for policy makers world wide.United Nation Industial Development Organization (UNIDO) and European Union arecosidered as major players in this regard though the foresight studies were poineered by the USAand Japan. In pakistan the TF activity was started for the first time during 2008. As a result ofDelphi Survey, 11 areas of economic importance were Identified. The TF excersise was carriedout by the Expert Panels in differet areas. The experts, after meetings, subsequent discussions andpresentations, prepared TF reports in these areas. The outcomes of the foresight study alsoinclude identification of mega projects and networking of different groups.The areas on which the Technology Foresight studies have been completed include; Agriculture,Energy, ICT, Education, Industry, Environment, Health, Biotechnology, Water, Nanotechnologyand Electronics. These areas are discussed in the paper, in general. However, the process andresults of Nanotechnology foresight have been dicussed in detail in the paper.
